There will probably be some Coxhead family history recorded by Manurewa Historical society and filed in the archives... I could check for you ...

I have the 'snippets' found on the 'net'.

A 'Tephra' Scavenger Hunt seems a good idea. I have my name down on the list.
Then we can 'pool' the info available.  :D

Hi Lesanne

I've spoken to one of the archivists at Manurewa Historical Soc.  apparently they were unable to track down any of the Coxhead family willing to do a family interview.... however there are a couple of publications on the area and the Coxheads are mentioned in those regarding home and property. I have copies, but my sister has them at the moment.  If there is anything to photograph I can do that. We sometimes go past Coxhead Creek Rd when we go to Matakana and also the Coxhead Rd around Maramarua on the way to Thames. I had wondered if there was a connection to one family .

Mare and Lesanne,
I spoke to one of the Maramarua Coxheads a day or so ago.  Couple live in Thames, they know there is a family connection with the Manurewa family but that's about it.  One of the earlier land owners at Maramarua/Mangatarata was George, (see Archway), that's why i got interested because The chap from WWI- DOD - was also George.
If by chance there's a photo of George WWI in the publications, I'd be interested.
