PARKADE/PARKSIDE Lunatic Asylum

Hello everyone
I found an article in Trove giving a return of persons who died in the Parkade Lunatic Asylum during the half year ended December 31, 1908.  I am interested in one of the names - Harriet BUTLER a 65.
Does anyone know if there are records available for this place?

The Symbol H indicates the deceased died in a hospital or place of care.

Many entries have an entries in the comments column however it is blank for Harriet.

I am not sure of the legal procedures for deaths in institutions in South Australia however in Victoria it was usual for inquests to be held into deaths in public institutions.

Thanks for the replies and links.

I am a bit loathe to get the death printout (or transcription as they are in SA) - as you say they are very scant on information.  But I need somehow to prove this is the ancestor I am looking for.

Can you get copies of the coroners reports?  I am in NZ.

The reason this entry "feels" right is that it says "relatives are unknown or reside beyond the limits of the state" (so very unlikely the death printout will have hubby's name on it).  I have completely lost the second husband John Frederick BUTLER - they were married 1872 in Wallaroo.

Quite frankly I wouldn't waste my money on a certificate or transcription.  No relative is named on the index.  There is no Print out as you have in NZ.  The information on the certificate is simply transcribed for a fee from

Records of inquests dating between 1877 and 1930 in South Australia were authorised for destruction during WW2.  For these years the Police reports to the Coroner are often useful however there are no comments in Harriet's entry in my resource.
