I did some research for an old friend with family from crosthwaite. I bought baptism and marriage register for 1670-1812 crosthwaite, on a cd.
You are welcome to have it if you wish, just send me an address.

You are a star.  Thank you very much indeed. Was there a special place in the graveyard where we might find any reference to Mary Lindsay.  I know they didn't have much money back then so probably no headstone to speak of.

Think I have looked there for inspiration - tried the Gravestone Project for Crosthwaite Parish - a few gravestones photographed but nothing to help unfortunately.
