« on: Sunday 02 March 14 21:02 GMT (UK) »

Hi all,

Trying to pin the date and Regt down, I have my own ideas but would like to hear yours. Also the age we all think the bride may be would help....

No wrong answers so the more suggestions the better.

Many thanks in advance.

 I'd guess late '40s

I'm not going to guess the lady's age.

That usually gets me into deep trouble ;D ;D ;D

Late 40s or very early 50s as I had a pair of shoes like the little girls' ones  for my cousin's wedding in 1951!

Gadget

Added - just noticed the bridesmaids' large sleeves and the brides hair - could be earlier  :-\

Depending on the quality of the original and your skills with the scanner,

Scan just the badge at high resolution. Post the result if you get a good

    picture.

                   Sometimes works,

What a lovely photo with a happy bride and groom ;D
I would say ,  the photograph was late 40s  :-\ The bride's hairstyle looks earlier....
The bridesmaid with the puffy sleeves looks swamped in her dress (made me think it could be a hand-me-down). Little girls are wearing T-bar shoes.
Can't help with the uniform I'm afraid.
And as for the bride's age, oh dear, difficult one - mid twenties (that's a guess :) )
Where do you think the photo was taken Tommy?

Looby :)

My guess would be early 1950s and the age of the bride around 20ish

My parents married in 1948, and some of the family members were dressed much like these - fairly practical warm clothing - it was just after the war ended. The little girl does look like she may be wearing a borrowed dress, or maybe made from another adult's dress. The bride I think is mid twenties, cheers, Anne

I immediately thought mid-40's, during the war as the groom has no medal ribbons. Possibly slightly later but not much, judging by the hair style and dresses.
Bride looks in her mid to late 20's or if she is likely to read this, not a day over 18.
