1720 Scottish Death Record
« on: Sunday 02 March 14 18:03 GMT (UK) »
I am having trouble reading this Scottish Death Record from Edinburgh in 1720--dated February 18th of that year. I was wondering if anyone could help. The chap in question is a William Scougall and can be found 12 lines down in the attached image. I am only looking for help translating the line of text pertaining to him. So far I can read:

"Wm Scougall wright..."

and that is pretty much it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I am trying to use this record in a quest to help me found out when this chap was born.

And as an attachment I have included a close-up.

thanks a lot,
Keiren

William Scougall has a child buried, the rest being a description of the location of the grave - a pace north from the tree next to Heriot's [    ] south alley. Greyfriars kiryard is beside Heriot's Hospital (now school).

Wow I didn't even realise it was a burial for a child, that was a shock! Thank you very much. :)

Could the missing bit be "Heriot's Yard"?  I'm nearly 100% sure the first letter is 'y', anyway.
