There is no Emily Augusta BARRETT in 1919. There is an Emily BARRETT, 301 Hereford St, Christchurch, spinster, who doesn't seem to appear on the previous roll nor the following one.

I did notice that in the 1949 electoral roll, William Robert and Emily Augusta are living at 273 Herbert St, Invercargill. He's a drainer, she's listed as married. Also at that address is Leonard William WILKINSON, labourer. There is a corresponding death for a WILKINSON, Leonard William in 1967 aged 46.

There's a Probate record for a Leonard William WILKINSON at Dunedin Archives NZ.

WILKINSON - Leonard William - Invercargill - retired driver -- 1967

Leonard William WILKINSON -  burial at (Roman Catholic section) Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill.
Cemetery record shows his age at death (on 11 May 1967) as 52 years.    Headstone inscription shows "Bill Wilkinson 1920-1967.

Another look at electoral rolls (and have cleaned my spectacles this time !  ;D )

In 1954 / 1957  - William Robert WILKINSON - drainer - is at 177 Mary Street, Invercargill.
In 1963 at same address - retired.

Looking for Leonard William WILKINSON in 1954 finds him on the Invercargill Supplementary Roll - occupation, lorry driver ... at 177 Mary Street

ALSO  ... at 177 Mary Street on same 1954 Supplementary e/roll, is  >

Vernon Ottway WILKINSON - labourer
Walter Ronald WILKINSON - driver
and  Elizabeth Henrietta WILKINSON - married.

NZ BDM (online) has following deaths;

1989 - WILKINSON - Vernon Ottway - d.o.b.  15 April 1929

1999 - WILKINSON - Ronald Walter - d.o.b.  15 April 1932

Possibly brothers of Leonard William WILKINSON  ???

The reason I asked is that on "Papers Past" there is an item concerning one Emily A. Barrett and her illegitimate son born 10.4.1919 @ Christchurch.
