thanks for your reply JenB - I have just been trying out FindMyPast on my laptop and it is not as bad as on a tablet or iPhone (I had been using it on an iPad). The search results are similar to the old FindMyPast in which they are shown as single lines.

I have found 4 Brick Lane Whitechapel? I'm assuming tenement flats there are many families listed under the one address
R

a) how did you find it - are you still on the old site?
b) please could you give Tsu the full reference so that she can use that to find the place?

I found it now I can't access the site again -  I took a note of one tenant earlier - hope it helps.

I also found this.......think we were all looking at the same time :) Here's how I got there....

Home page, scroll down to bottom left and click on census records, where(Britain), house number (4), street (Brick Lane), record collection (census), record set (1901 census), search.

This brings up 43 results for this address, which must be as Richview said,  tenement flats.

The district is Whitechapel, RG13, Piece 302, Folio 74, Page1.

Also when you enter the record collection and record set, use the browse collection button but make sure you change it to Britain (under where) or it will show up loads of filter choices.
Best wishes HL

Thanks for that  :D

But how daft that one can enter the house number in the 'general' census page, and not on the page for a specific year, which was where I was looking  ::)

Yup, it's all daft. It's a question of working out how to get there and never has it been more long winded and illogical.
Best wishes HL

I sent an email for help searching the census sheets, (not really expecting a reply) but actually got one in 24 hours.  IT came all the way from FindMyPast.au (Australia) and told me in great detail how to search for a marriage.
not very helpful!

Is it me or are the postings from Paul Dunlop more or less the same,  with slight mods. I clicked on 'show previous admin responses' and got 3 variations saying much the same thing as the last  ::)

I have tried and tried when I find a person I'm looking for is there not a place where it tells you that that particular person is in another tree and you can get in touch with the person who has put that tree on like on Ancestry .That's why I thought I would give FindMyPast a try that somebody different would be on there and I may have found a new relative to swap information with ( hope you can understand all of that )

I don't think there is, or ever has been, this facility on Find My Past. If there is I've never seen it.  ;D

Yes he just tweaks the previous report - Feedback is rapidly becoming a waste of time - they really need to issue a full statement.
