I, like so many others, sent FindMyPast my feedback re. the 'Contact Us' facility.   Didn't expect to get a reply but received one a short while ago.

I've sent 3 msgs via contact us, one on Tuesday, 2 today, but no replies to any.

The bit that stands out to me is 'We are aware that the new search facilities have not suited our more experienced customers'.

but not an apology . . . the mind boggles at the mess up they have created . . .

I thought I sent one via Contact Us on Tuesday, and two yesterday, but did get a reply today saying they'd not received the first one (may not have pressed the second submit button :-X).  Was polite but not of any real help.  They did say they were rather busy at the present time. ;D ;D

I would think that's a bit of an understatement.  ;D ;D ;D

;D Well still trying folks! Read a "Positive" on their Facebook page, an IT guy ( Not theirs I think) who suggested we stop the drama & compensation chatter, they're fixing them, above all they are apologetic  etc etc; basically wait a few weeks of your life until it backs up and working, really what's your problem.

Above is an abridged version to show we have nothing to worry about!

He says that 'they have technical issues' and ends up saying 'what's your problem'. He clearly has no understanding of the release of quality, well designed, thoroughly tested products, and he relates the issues FindMyPast are having with his IT tech support department, incredible.

I think more wind up than positive  :) :) so still no positives anywhere.

;D Also when for what seemed the 100th time in finding where to place birth place in a census, I was offered by the blessed filter system, Hampshire, Essex Hampshire, Middlesex and Hampshire Isle of Wight plus more, any idea where the other 2 are when if Essex or Middlesex would have entered as such on the old search?

Just thought I would go back to basics and watch the introductory videos on FindMyPast news to see if I could make head or tail of the site.

The first short video shows you how to search for marriages (provided you want only a simple search) but when it ends the screen divides into the option of 12 more videos.  3 of those are how to search on ancestry.com !!!!  is FindMyPast suggesting we all move to another provider?
