The product manager of the FindMyPast new site, Paul Dunlop, has reappeared on their Forum, selectively answering some of the points raised. Many of the comments on the 'bring back the features of the old site' thread are not specific or are along the lines of 'this site is useless' (a sentiment of which I heartily agree but cannot really be answered unless he wants to give the correct answer of yes). I have asked a specific question with an example in the hope that he may be able to justify the agonisingly long process of getting certain data into a search form.

I'll sit back and wait with bated breath, but don't hold out much hope, maybe I'll be surprised.

Simon

Crikey, I had a response on the forum from Paul Dunlop in 7 minutes :o saying he agreed with me and would pass my suggestion to the search team.

So, catch him when he appears to be responding and be specific with an example. They may take notice.

I've just found my saved searches under my account and ......
Nothing totally empty!!!
 ::) ::)

Click on the My Records tab between Search Records and News.  ::)  They aren`t making it easy  ::)
Thanks I'd already done that and it gave me (or so it seems) every record i'd looked at.
I don't want to have to plough through them all to find the ones that were relevant.
Wondering if they intend putting them under saved searches but haven't quite managed it yet.
Somerset - Beard, Masters, White, Percival
Lincolnshire - Turner, Wilson
Yorkshire - Turner
Staffordshire - Beech, Gee, Mellor

I wonder why they can't make the old FindMyPast available and put everyone back on that while they sort out their so-called 'improvements'?

I think they are in denial about how big a mess it is now, it seems to be far beyond minor tweaks that need doing.

I'm not convinced that they have anyone there who actually understands the records they have and how the old site worked . . .

The 'Product manager' at FindMyPast states categorically here http://www.rootschat.com/links/0yrx/ that old site will NOT be reinstated.

I have been following the feedback on NFMP today with interest. I fail to understand why they can't run both sites - the admin replies make no sense - the old site apparently is still active in libraries.
The Company state their new site was tested by 1000's???
