Just had my first experience of the new site. What a disaster! It would be nice if they could have tested the site before going live. I can see why there are so many posts on this thread. At least I only bought a month's sub, which I seriously doubt if I'll be renewing  >:(

Thank heaven for Ancestry, where I'm now heading . . .

Yes indeed. Very interesting on the FindMyPast feedback Paul Dunlop Product Manager stated 1000's had tested the new format.
From the lack of feedback tonight I wonder if FindMyPast have in fact now stopped feedback just as they have stopped taking phone calls

REALLY WEIRD !  If you post the URL of this thread on the findmypast feedback forum customer complaints thread, it posts, but if you then immediately reload the page, it has disappeared. It's looking like the URL for this thread, and perhaps also this site, is being automatically detected and instantly deleted. Bizarre, URLs to sites which contain even more strenuous criticism of FindMyPast can be posted and will remain on display, and the FindMyPast issue is now widely known outside FindMyPast.

I just did a test. I posted "Testing... www.rootschat.com" - it posted but disappeared on reload. I then did a second test and posted "Testing... www.microsoft.com" and the same thing happened. I don't think they are targeting Rootschat in particular. Prob just security measure to stop spammers etc.

Perhaps the last straw was the WDYTYA magazine editorial being posted!! I tried to post a comment just after 6pm and it's only that thread that's locked the others are still working.
Shame on FindMyPast - looks like they are happy to take subscriptions but can't take any criticism.

Hi

Am I the only one who is fed up with the constant whinging about FindMyPast. Yes, we all know that FindMyPast is a shambles, and so I'm sure do FindMyPast, but so many of the complaints are repetitive. Once FindMyPast are aware of a problem they don't need to be told multiple times, it doesn't help.

Normally a website such as FindMyPast would do updates at a quiet time so as to disrupt as few people as possible, because of the number of issues it would appear they are doing updates at other times so if something disappears or you can't access a database. try again later.

I also find it REALLY WIERD that a new chatter signed up and the first post is on this topic.

Andy

This thread is here for people to make comments on the the new site or give suggestions. I don't think criticizing other members falls within it's  brief. If the owners objected to the thread, I'm sure it would have been locked or removed.

You could start a new thread maybe  ;D ;D ;D

Even FindMyPast has a crit/comment thread going.
