Brazier in Tamworth
« on: Tuesday 25 February 14 11:27 GMT (UK) »
James Brazier(Born Oxfordshire C1837) and Wife Alice Ann (Nee Brown) Migrated to NSW (Unassisted Passage) on SS Orizaba. Arriving Sydney 20/8/1892. They settled in Tamworth. Had two children, Martha Emma (1881) and Robert James (17/10/1883. In August 1886 Alice and children returned to UK onboard SS John Elder. Cannot find any further reference to James. His name has been taboo and Family wouldn't talk about him. Robert James was my Uncle. Appreciate any advice where to find out about James after 1886.

I think you have made an error with their date of arrival in Sydney.

There are two James BRAZIER's deaths in NSW in 1888 and 1906.

Do you have James' parents names?

A quick search of the 1841 census shows his parents may be James and Ann and those are the names of the James BRAZIER who died in NSW in 1906.

Too early for them but may be connected.

Looking back at 18709 in Tamworth.
A few paragraphs about Mr J Brazier, well-known identity as town crier, some time ago returned to England to collect inheritance from a rich relative and has now returned with gifts, seed, stock etc (and a wife)

Ros I think that is looking back to Sep 1879 in Tamworth which would tie in with their arrival in Aug 1879 posted by cupoflife  :)

Cheers
