You can request release (digitisation) of his records if you wish. The files are marked not yet examined but it is unlikely to be a problem.

FWIW, a really quick look at the electoral rolls show the following (excluding mum and dad already identified):

Amazing Ros and "ianash1963" what you have found in no time about tracking down Basil Coppers relatives.  Let's hope that we find them, as we are getting closer and closer to the family.

   Closer ....

   Lionel Kingsley Cooper died in 1984 aged 93 in Cambrian Hill, Victoria.  parents Edwin Albert and Char Caroline reg 11154

   Unfortunately I don't have access to victorian newspapers (past 1955)  but there are other rootschatters who do.   His death notice would give more recent family details.

Not sure what this means - perhaps a grandchild is named after the father?   On May 20 and 23, 2013 there are prayers for a Lionel Kingsley Cooper, for the recently departed.

adding : could be well worth contacting the church - there is an e-mail address there.  Must be some family connection to the Church.  No I did contact church who were very helpful but no known  connection immediately

I found the Death Notice of Lionel Kinglsey Cooper.  It names his 5 daughters, including married names and 2 sons including Basil.

I'll send it to you off list as some of them may still be alive
