John Hewitt, loxley, Warwickshire
« on: Monday 24 February 14 10:25 GMT (UK) »
Looking for a John Hewitt 'of Loxley' for his marriage 1793.  Birth about 1765, would like to know if he came from Loxley or nearby and his parents and siblings.  If anyone has the loxley PR's appreciate if they could lookup, presently little transcribed.

Thanks Ross

Hi

Think this maybe the marriage you want

At Wasperton by Banns, published 29 Sept 1793, 6 Oct. and 13 Oct. 1793.

John Hewitt of Loxley, bachelor and Mary Marcy of this parish, spinster were married 14th Oct. 1793

Both left their mark in register.
Witnesses: William Hewitt (X) Elizabeth Hewitt (X) and William Pettifer ( church official)

Loxley have their registers transcribed on this site, but can't find a birth for him there

Thanks Claire

That eliminates one possibility, need now to check some of the others nearby (Ettington, Combrook, Alveston, etc ) I know there was one at Wellesborne 1763 and most the likely at Lighthorne 1765.  There seem to be many Hewitt families in the area, not all transcribed that I would like to eliminate. Births close together in adjacent towns is a problem.
Thanks had been working on that marriage as the most likely.
