I am looking for a Mary Houten born inishowen Ireland in 1907. The name of her father was Dan. We know that she eventually settled in Canada (area unknown). She married a person with surname McColgan and lived all her life in Canada. We believe that she may have returned to Ireland for visit around 1958. Would love to find a lead. Would some kind member take a search please. We have found Mary in 1911 census (age 4) living with her father and younger brother, (mother dead as father listed as widower.

Mary Houten on the 1911 Census

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Donegal/Ardmalin/Irishtrahull_Island/494643/

Did she marry before she went to Canada ?

Came across an outbound passenger list for Mary McColgan in 1958 but she turned out to be a student  ::)

Nothing so far to tell us if it is the correct Mary. The Canada Voters Lists for 1972/1974 - Scarborough, Ontario, Canada show Patrick McColgan (shipper) and Mary Mccolgan - 99 Greyabbey Trail. Scarborough.

Hi,
I am also trying to do research on my grandmother Mary McColgan (nee Houton) and the woman detailed here is definitely her.  I have been trying to find information about other family members as I know she had some half siblings that lived in Ireland.  I would greatly appreciate any information that you may have regarding the area she lived in or any family members that are still living.
Thank you,
Lisa.
