I know what you mean when talking about the rumor about the head of the house being the father of the maid's legit child, we hear it all the time, however this was more than the usual rumor.
The Stud Groom was the head of the stable and at Coome court this was no small job, he would have been in direct contact with the Earl and the 2 families would have been together. The Stud groom would be on par with the head butler, a position every one in the household would look up to.
We have done all we could with the property and Land Reg.
Would have been nice to show some of the other bits we found in the baptism records they were fascinating.
It also really doesn't show how hard we had to work to find the birth, it is a case that we will remember because of just how long it took to find the birth and then to find no family was such a let down. The source of this case was also different, and is where we got a huge amount of the info re the family from, but it just didn't help us find the heirs or the birth. Would have been nice to have solved this one, but it just wasn't to be.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
