I am trying to find his parents names and need the marriage certificate to identify them.
Child born to this couple Annie MCCARTY in 1888 Warragul.

Sounds promising. The John/Patrick MCCARTY/MCCARTHY I am looking for was born in Ballarat. Now to get the certificate, hopefully his father will be Owen and his mother Ellen LOUGHMAN. Fingers crossed..

One is a Mary, aged 76 in 1939.

I think I will get the marriage certificate.
There other MCCARTYs buried at Neerim are sons of John/Patrick MCCARTY and Mary LIDDY.I have info on them. 
Mary MCCATHY buried in 1939 in most likely her, there is a newspaper article for her probate in 1939.
However noticed that John/Patrick MCCARTY is not listed there. Is the list only for graves with headstones??

1931 at Neerim
McCARTY- Mary , Margaret Ellen and Edward Arthur Owen (who is son according to earlier indexes)
