still looking for info on CHARLES JAMES BROWN

hi
i know im being greedy in asking again but im at a real brickwall and im hoping someone will take pity on me :-) please

CHARLES JAMES BROWN
born 24 Apr 1900 55a Lant Street, Southwark

parents CHARLES HENRY BROWN and ANNE nee FARRELL

he was in WW1, apprently lied about his age to join up.  in 1911 they lived at 42 ENGLEHEART ROAD CATFORD.
and in 1927 lived at 208 Southend Lane, Catford, Lewisham, London with his wife EDITH nee RICKS
and son PETER
I do have a couple of photos with him in his uniform, but i need to know how to find out what he was in WW1
any help would be great

you could also try looking in ancestry for either a service record but bear in mind up to 60% were destroyed in ww2 bombing raid or his medal index card but again with such a common name there may be lots of others as well , see if your local library has free access to ancestry .

To post a photo you would need to scan the photo through your printer onto your computer.

Or, with a digital camera, take a fresh photos of your old ones, then insert the SD from your camera into computer or laptop.

Then once on your computer you can edit, crop the image, etc ready for posting here.

There's 4 pages plus soldiers called  C J Brown on ancestry, but to hopefully help you along I think the top 2 on the list below might possibly be the most obvious,, as they have the middle name of 'James' mentioned:
