Hello, i am a Campbell. My aunt used to stay on the shorefront at Glendaruel...I remember many years ago as a young boy finding an old graveyard with a dry stone dyke not far from her house, it was surrounded by trees if i remember right. It was a Campbell graveyard with very old headstones. I wonder if anyone can tell me how it came to be in Glendaruel. It was very overgrown with weeds and wonder if anyone tends to it?. I also remember finding an inscription carved into a rock face with words similar to " Here lies the grave of ? a norse chieftain who fell in the battle of ? "...This was on the shorefront leading towards the old pier. Someone told me the rockface had been blasted away to make a new road, but the inscription is still their. Just curious if anyone knows any thing about this.
