Michael J McCluskey died Apr 20, 1912 Boston, Suffolk Co, Mass and his wife
Ellen (McLaughlin) McCluskey died Oct 31, 1899 Boston, Suffolk Co, Mass

Sorry can't help with obits, it doesn't look as if Boston library oblige either. Was there anything in particular that you wanted to know ?

Michael McCluskey died at Boston L I Hospital 1 Union Ave. Michael was a widow. Place of burial was Calvary Cemetery. Parents :- John McCluskey and Ann Carton.

Ellen McCluskey - Parents Neal McLaughlin Mother: Sarah Kelly.

Hi Sandra, Thanks so much for that. I was looking to see if the obituary gave siblings names for Michael and Ellen. Appreciate your help.  I guess I will have to keep digging.

Notice an anc tree which seems to have 12 children for Neil and Sarah Kelly. Only 4 children listed for John McCluskey and Ann Carton. (But one not listed - was Margaret McCluskey Maley born 1822 and died 23 Feb 1900) so that would make 5 children. Tree viewable free on anc sister site (if you haven't already come across it)

I don't see obituaries for either of them in the Boston Globe.

Mary J McLaughlin was one that was listed on the family tree but with no further info on her other than born 1836 New Brunswick.

Thanks Sandra and shellyesq, I believe you may be right with Mary Jane. Looks like they have the same parents. I will have a look at the family tree you mentioned. Would love to know if Michael had siblings. Thanks again for the help.

Apart from Michael there seems to be :-

Patrick McCluskey born 1819 who died 11 Sep 1893 in Grand Falls , New Brunswick, Canada.

Charles J McCluskey born 18 Aug 1821 in Grand Falls , New Brunswick, Canada.

Rosann "Rose" McCluskey 1 August 1824 Derry Cavan Ireland and died 8 Feb 1905 in  Grand Falls , New Brunswick, Canada. Married to William Chamber born about 1813.

Here they are in 1861 Grand Falls, Victoria, New Brunswick.

William Chamber  48 Roman Catholic.  Farmer.
Rose Chamber  38
Elizebeth Chamber  15
William Mc Chiskey  6 Nephew.

Can see Rose in 1851/1861/1871/1881 and then in 1901 she is living with a son William and is widowed.#

Yes Sandra, that's likely my family tree. I had Michael on the 1881 census with his sister Rosanna. Took me years to figure out how they were related since he is only showing as "lodger" on the census. Finally broke that wall BUT since he moved to Boston with his family I am thinking there likely were other family members living in Boston. Pure luck that he was staying with his sister in 1881 or I probably would not have known of his existence. I know for sure Charles J and Rosann were Michael's siblings. Patrick is a possibility, not a definite. I am actually amazed at how easily they moved around back then. Travel did not seem to be an issue.
