I hope I'm not to late with this information.  Arthur Charlton Cooper was born in 1869 in Redfern NSW to Thomas Fergus Cooper and Francis Catherine (nee Muckle).1845
she was the daughter of my gggrandfather George Muckle b.1785 Lasswade Scotland
Does this help.
Here is further information I found on the net
"At the time of his marriage Thomas was living in Castlereagh St SydneyFrances was living in East Street Redfern. Her father was deceased.

Hi Tom, I have read your page before about the Cooper's of Chatham and I see that there is a comment added to the end about the descendants of Thomas Fergus Cooper. It was me that got in touch with that person, so I thought I would fill in the detail as best I can.
Thomas Fergus Cooper married Frances Catherine Keightley Muckle in Sydney in 1868. They had at least 3 sons all born in Redfern, Sydney. I think there may also have been another son, Harold Edward Cooper. I have not managed to find out when Thomas Fergus or Catherine died.
Arthur Charlton Cooper b 1869 d 1927,  married Matilda Johnstone and they had 3 children - Aubrey Johnstone Cooper, Edna and Alice.  Thomas Aubrey (Horberry) Cooper b 1873, (my great grandfather) and George Benjamin Cooper b 1876 d 1928 (Queensland) m ?name but had sons. His headstone says he was in the AIF in 1914-18.
Thomas Aubrey Cooper started travelling and ended up in South Wales, UK, where he married Lydia Miles in Cardiff in 1902. They had 3 daughters Frances Doris b 1906, Audrey Keightley b 1909 and Lesleen Valerie b 1910 (my grandmother). They travelled back to Sydney in 1911. Unfortunately Thomas Aubrey died in 1918 in Sydney and the family returned to Wales in 1919. Lydia then died in 1927 leaving the 3 girls to look after each other. My grandmother went on to have 5 children and 13 grandchildren. The number of her great and great great grandchildren continue to grow!
The Australian connection was always a puzzle until I discovered Ancestry and your website!
(Funnily enough my sister has lived in NSW for the last 20 years, after much travelling she ended up in Tilba NSW which is where Lilla Charlotte Muckle's daughter Lilla married and had children. When we investigated we discovered that my sister was living amongst her distant cousins!)
Hope that this has been helpful.
Louisa                August 2014"

This is confusing but now I (linny1) am writing: my great aunt was the Lilla mentioned above.  Where do you live? I have more info
