The daughter of James Atkiss named Ada was my great grandmother. She married Charles W Walker and their daughter Grace was my grandmother. Grace married James W Baxter and had seven children.  Any questions?  I am excited to begin my search

Hi Judy sorry but I have only just seen this.. Was Charles a Lawyer? I have seen James' will on family search and it makes interesting reading :) James is my 2nd cousin 6 times removed Andrew

Charles Walker was a haberdasher in Manhattan and lived in Brooklyn, NY

Andrew......in reading James' will what made for interesting reading?  I find the history of NYC fascinating. Was James born in the United States?  He apparently is my great great grandfather.
