Death Certificates - Ann Woods & George Woods
« on: Sunday 02 February 14 11:39 GMT (UK) »
As part of researching my own family, I have ordered a couple of death certificates that are not immediately relevant for me, but may be for someone else.

Ann Woods - died 13 Jan 1900 at Mullaghmore, Clogher - aged 48 years, spinster, servant

George Woods - died 23 July 1904 at Donaghmoyne - aged 55 years, farmer, married, brother of Thomas Woods

Let me know if anyone wants more details from either of these certificates.

David

I'm new on here and just going through the Tyrone section.
I would be interested to know if there is a sibling Rachel/Rachael born around 1790 listed on either.
She married Patrick McCallion circa 1813 +/-
Thanks.
Nikki

I am afraid that these death certificates will not help you with your quest for a Rachel Woods born around 1790.

The details from the death certificates are:

Ann Woods - died 13 January 1900 at Mullaghmore, Clogher
aged 48 years, spinster, Servant
death registered by Catherine Congill or Corgill
cause of death: malignant disease of stomach

George Woods - died 23 July 1904 at Donaghmoyne
aged 55 years, married, Farmer
death registered by Thomas Woods, brother of Donaghmoyne
cause of death: cardiac disease

George Woods can be found on the 1901 census at Donaghmoyne:

George Woods, 47 years, Head of Family, Farmer, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Mary Woods, 42 years, Wife, No occupation, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Maud Woods, 16 years, Daughter, Scholar, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Jane Woods, 14 years, Daughter, Scholar, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Robert Woods, 10 years, Son, Scholar, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Thomas Woods, 44 years, Brother, Farmer, Church of Ireland, born Tyrone
Thomas Keenan, 19 years, Farm Servant, Roman Catholic, born Tyrone
Lena Keys, 19 years, Domestic Servant, Church or Ireland, born Tyrone.

Otherwise, I am afraid that I cannot help.

Regards

David

Thank you. It was a long shot, but if you don't ask you never know. Sometimes little gems pop up in the most unlikely places :)
