hi there folks, fear ive hit the 'brick wall' with this one so require some help guys or at the end of the road. Im trying to trace the birth of my 3x great grandad, he was called George William Evans born abt 1863 (from marriage cert) fathers name Samuel from same cert, he married in Methley, Yorkshire in 1883 and is there in subsequent census', i cannot find his birth though and census say differnent places of birth, one says methley in yorkshire, one say yorks and mold in wales, and one say just wales. I have searched births/christenings for all those areas, wills, military records, census' and everyhting else i can think of but cant find his birth record anywhere apart from a possible in derbyshire which im not entirely happy about as no records ive found give a connection to this area. Any help with this conundrum much appreciated or im going to have to put this one to bed

What was his fathers occupation on the marriage cert?

Were any of the witnesses surname Evans?

Good, many thanks - it's just that there are 4 names per page, and to match them correctly  :-\
