If you look at the bottom left of the screen you'll see a blue button. Slide it to the left to see the current satellite view. I doubt if anything you might see there will bear any resemblance to what your great-grandparents would have known.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thank you so much for the map - I love it!
So Jellyhill farm cottages are now Hilton Terrace. Will have to have a look when I visit. The map will also be useful to look up other places in Kirkintilloch & Kilsyth.
