Hitchcocks of Bethnal Green and Norwood
« on: Sunday 26 January 14 20:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,
I am trying to find information on the Hitchcock family who started off in Bethnal Green in the early 1800's. In particular I am tracing the ancestors of John Hitchcock  who married Sarah Taylor in May of 1841. If there is anyone out there researching this family I would love to hear from you!

Thank you so much.It helps to have the right year. I believe John was born circa 1823 in Bethnal Green but by 1861 he was living in Norwood, Surrey. Haven't found his birth and parents yet but know some of his children.
Thanks for your help  :)

Yes , thanks. I have the 1851 and 1861 and 1871 census returns. It is his birth and parents I am hitting a brick wall with. His Father may have been John Hitchcock born about 1801 in Bethnall green but I cannot find a birth record if he is. I'll keep looking.
Thanks again,
SVC  ;)

Hi,
Thank you once again. You must excuse me if I don't know the correct form. Will try to post more info in future. I am not very computer savy. Your info is great though and I really am very grateful. Have been concentrating on John and didn't think about looking for Sarah!
Regards,
SVC
