Many thanks all, you have certainly given me lots to think about.
My Henry Kendrick was the son of John & Harriet Kendrick & he was born about 1859 in Norton Canes according to his early census entries. His brother John was born in 1844 in Darlaston but on a later census entry John gave his place of birth as James Bridge, Darlaston.
Not knowing the area I checked up on the internet & found the following description for Wood Green.....
"Wood Green, eccl. dist. and ry. sta., partly in West Bromwich par. and bor., but chiefly in Wednesbury par. and bor., Staffordshire, pop. 4032; the sta. lies between James Bridge sta. and Bascot Junction."
The reason that I checked up on Wood Green was the Henry Kendrick, husband of Martha, gave his place of birth as Wood Green in his 1891 census entry. A couple of other siblings whose early entries show their place of birth as Norton Canes gave some of their later census entries as Wednesbury & West Bromwich. All of the places seem to be covered by the Wood Green description that I found on the internet making them plausible entries to consider.
Although the 1891 census for Henry & Martha looks promising giving Wood Green as their place of birth I now have grave doubts due to the finds kindly mentioned by you ~ the fact that Henry Kendrick could have been the son of Enoch Kendrick must be strongly taken into account as Henry & Martha named a son Enoch who was likely named after his grandfather.
Thanks again for all of your very kind help.
