Henry Kendrick & Martha Dursley marriage West Bromwich 1872
« on: Sunday 26 January 14 18:02 GMT (UK) »
Do Henry Kendrick & Martha Dursley appear on your family tree?

I am trying to track down the correct Henry Kendrick who was my ancestor. There are two possible likely marriages for him with one of them marrying in 1872 in West Bromwich to a lady named Martha Dursley. I spotted this marriage on the Family Search website but unfortunately no actual date or church was given.
The checking point for me would be the name of the groom's father  ~  My Henry Kendrick was the son of John Kendrick.
Does anyone have this couple on their family tree please?  If so, could you possibly help me to determine if this might be the correct entry for Henry Kendrick who was the son of John Kendrick.
Thank you.

Someone appears to have at least the Martha Dursley on an online tree.

It would appear that the Henry Kendrick who married Martha Dursley is not the OP's ancestor. We will have to wait for the alternative marriage.

Many thanks all, you have certainly given me lots to think about.
My Henry Kendrick was the son of John & Harriet Kendrick & he was born about 1859 in Norton Canes according to his early census entries.  His brother John was born in 1844 in Darlaston but on a later census entry John gave his place of birth as James Bridge, Darlaston.
Not knowing the area I checked up on the internet & found the following description for Wood Green.....
"Wood Green, eccl. dist. and ry. sta., partly in West Bromwich par. and bor., but chiefly in Wednesbury par. and bor., Staffordshire, pop. 4032; the sta. lies between James Bridge sta. and Bascot Junction."
The reason that I checked up on Wood Green was the Henry Kendrick, husband of Martha, gave his place of birth as Wood Green in his 1891 census entry. A couple of other siblings whose early entries show their place of birth as Norton Canes gave some of their later census entries as Wednesbury & West Bromwich. All of the places seem to be covered by the Wood Green description that I found on the internet making them plausible entries to consider.
Although the 1891 census for Henry & Martha looks promising giving Wood Green as their place of birth I now have grave doubts due to the finds kindly mentioned by you  ~  the fact that Henry Kendrick could have been the son of Enoch Kendrick must be strongly taken into account as Henry & Martha named a son Enoch who was likely named after his grandfather.
Thanks again for all of your very kind help.

I doubt that he would marry in 1872 as he would only be 12/13

Here is the 1871 RG10/2985/7/8 (spelt Kindrick on Ancestry)
