Mrs M. GILBERT (sister of Tom William BOSSON )

Appears to be the following :

NZ Death

1996 - GILBERT - Mary Philomene - d.o.b.  21 July 1917

Suspect now that Tom (Thomas) William BOSSON and Mary Philomene GILBERT (nee BOSSON) are the siblings of Owen Patrick BOSSON.  ;D

Noting that the Honoria HORAN of Christchurch had sisters named "Mary" and "May Philomena" ...
which may have given rise to the naming of Mary Philomena BOSSON ?

looking at the census they were still in England 1901 when he was age 11yrs
do you want info on his family and him before going to N.Z??
Hi, yes i would like a little further info before they came to nz. I have a little from inquiring on the England-Staff site. I did hear from my sister in law, who i am doing this for, that she thought a couple of family members had come to NZ before the others. I also think that one went to another country to, maybe Canada.

Hi spacecookie

Looks like most of census info for BOSSON and HARRIS families has already been posted to your Staffordshire thread ??

1901 UK census (in case You haven't got this one).

Staffordshire - Woolstanton - 4 Lunts? Avenue

James R. BOSSON - 41 - storeman potter's printer (earthen?) - b. Staffs - Tunstall
Lydia - wife - 38 - b. Derbyshire ?*- Alton
Frederick - son - 19 - Potter's printer (earthen.) - worker - b. Staffs. - Tunstall
Ethel - dau - 15 [no occupation shown] - b. Tunstall
Annie - dau - 13 - b. Tunstall
Thomas - son - 11 - b. Staffs - Longport
Hilda - dau - 7 - b. Staffs -Wolstanton
Grace A. - dau - 5 - b. Staffs - Burslem
James -son - 4 - b. Staffs - Burslem

--------------------

James and Lydia married in 1881 - oldest child appears to be Frederick, born c. 1882 ?    George A. BOSSON is not with family in 1901 - he left for New Zealand in September 1901.
All the other children of James and Lydia seem to be accounted for, so not sure which one of them might have gone to Canada ???

Edited to add: * Lydia's birthplace shown on this census return as Derbyshire - Alton ... but all other census records (including in her maiden name) show "Staffordshire - Alton".

Hi. Sorry I can't give you much information right here and now as we have just shifted house, this family is my Mother in law's family, so it is possible we could share some information.

I will talk to Mum later today, she is very interested in family history, also there are other BOSSON buried in Hawera, would be happy to take photos.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi

Do you (or the person you're researching for), happen to have the death record (printout) for Honora (Honoria) BOSSON ?

Found this Christchurch marriage for a HORAN daughter.

22 November 1911 at Catholic Cathedral, ChCh.
Mary Ellen HORAN (28) to Joseph Stanislaus FOLEY

Bride's parents:  Owen HORAN (engine driver) and Sarah Theresa (nee CUNNINGHAM)
Witnesses to marriage:
 - John Aloysius HORAN, plasterer
- Honoria HORAN - tailoress

---------------------------

Suggestive that this Honoria is probably the sister of the bride above

hi, i was wondering if there would be any available info on the above Owen Horan and Sarah Theresa Cunningham, sort of come to a standstill with them. I have had some confirmation from another Bosson researcher regarding It being the right Honoria Cecelia (Cissie)Horan who married Thomas Bosson 1916 ChCH NZ. thank you.
