Found this Christchurch marriage for a HORAN daughter.

22 November 1911 at Catholic Cathedral, ChCh.
Mary Ellen HORAN (28) to Joseph Stanislaus FOLEY

Bride's parents:  Owen HORAN (engine driver) and Sarah Theresa (nee CUNNINGHAM)
Witnesses to marriage:
 - John Aloysius HORAN, plasterer
- Honoria HORAN - tailoress

---------------------------

Suggestive that this Honoria is probably the sister of the bride above

hi, i was wondering if there would be any available info on the above Owen Horan and Sarah Theresa Cunningham, sort of come to a standstill with them. I have had some confirmation from another Bosson researcher regarding It being the right Honoria Cecelia (Cissie)Horan who married Thomas Bosson 1916 ChCH NZ. thank you.

Hi spacecookie

Mmm ... I was puzzled by what you'd written above re: the marriage of HORAN daughter ... it seemed somehow familiar.    :)    I can see now though that it was extracted from my posting @ Reply # 27.  (Good idea most times, to quote the author).  :)

I know you're doing this research for someone else as mentioned earlier, and that that person doesn't wish to pay for information or buy certs. etc.     But I think the time has possibly come when the run of "free information" is at an end.  ;D

It seems that Owen HORAN and Sarah CUNNINGHAM married in NZ in 1882.    Happily NZ marriage records of that date, collected info on birthplaces of bride and groom, their parents names, their father's occupations, etc. etc.

So, for the small price of just $20.40 NZ dollars, a printout of the marriage record can be obtained - (and remember that NZ BDM can email these also).
Personally, I think purchasing this would be invaluable to progressing your friend's search.   ;)

I suspect there is an Irish connection with HORAN (and maybe CUNNINGHAM too) - and knowing the difficulty of searching Irish records, every little bit of info from a reliable source (such as the marriage record where bride and groom have supplied the information), will be of help.   :)

Good luck.

Thank you for this thread.
I was getting nowhere with Ethel BOSSON until I happened by.  She married Frank MOULDEY 23 July 1908 (1908/6247), and had at least one surviving child (Stella 1911/19275) and one stillborn (NR 1914/16655).  I hadn't found a date of death and had no idea about when or where she was born.
So now I know!  Thanks again.

Found them.  No followup though, so she probably recovered.  Many thanks.
