John Morton m Elizabeth Morley 24 Oct 1811 Doncaster
« on: Thursday 23 January 14 20:50 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out when and why Elizabeth dies! John remarries Nov 28 1814 to Elizabeth Bagshaw - both are down as Widows at this wedding.
John is listed as "from Sheffield and draper" at first wedding
So far I cannot find a death for first wife but wondered if it is connected to birth of son Miles circa 1812?
Any clues gratefully appreciated! Thanks

Thank you for looking, but I am not sure about this!
John and Elizabeth had several children from 1815 until 1822, many I have traced forward successfully.

Just wondering whether John married Eliz Morley 24th Oct 1811 and then as a bigamist, married Eliz Bagshaw (listed as a widow and so was he!) when he married her 1814?

John and Eliz (which one?) did have John Morton (son) b May 9, 1821 in Doncaster - our GGGrandfather - the plot thickens, especially as I cannot find the deaths of either Eliz!
