What make was this sweetie tin??

Hi,

I work close to an Organ Restoration firm, and today whilst dismantling a set of organ pipes for  conservation, they discover that they have been crudely tuned by someone being very inventive and using  parts from what looks like a  Deco sweetie tin.

My question is who made the tin, and therefore the sweeties?? (Could it be Mackintosh something???)

(In the third pic, the bit of sweetie tin would have been in a round form and pushed into the top of the pipe, to enable tuning.)

Mackintosh were certainly in Halifax - ooooohhhhh!!! the smell of toffee, when I visited my grandmother, who lived nearby, in the 1950s.  Much nicer than the textile smells!!!

Yes, my grandmother lived off Pellon Lane, and the Mackintosh factory was on Queen's Road, so just round the corner.  It was the most wonderful aroma (hot toffee) - well to a little girl it was  I might still be tempted, although I think the taste has changed since the 1950s.

How fascinating...Mackintosh's toffee...now Rowntree Mackintosh....Oh...yes 
They don't make toffee like that anymore  ...Mc Cowan's also a favourite

Looking at the bottom of all those letters it does not say "Mackintosh". Were there any other toffee makers in Halifax.

Ignore my last, suddenly realised the bits of tin don't belong together. What we can see is MACKINTOsh and wRAPPed toffees.
