regarding >

Stanley Ashman   ... he married Minna [Minnie] Lamb in 1910

Marriages Dec 1910   Ashman; Stanley    &     Lamb Minna     Bath    5c   1263

there twas a 1911 for that but cannot post here ......     maybe someone can track Minnie Ashman nee Lamb.......    she may have remarried ....   just a thought
there is a minnie ashman marrying in Axbridge in 1923 to Culling but cannot be affirmed as to whether same soul
not confirmed but there may have been two children to the airmans marriage >
Births Dec 1911 Eileen C M  Ashman      [ Lamb]registered at    Clutton    5c   812

Births Jun 1914 Douglas S  ASHMAN    [ Lamb]   registered at  Clutton    5c   806*****

so given that , she may have remarried after raising the children on her own.....
also those two children would now be dead but there could be marriages for them with offspring
Douglas married Sheila C Birrell [registered Marriage Jun quarter 1940 Fulham    1a949]
there were 2 children off that marriage born in Somerset but they may be still alive...they are listed on bmduk {Michael D & Wendy D   born Weston Somerset }

 Eileen C M    married a Mr Claudius J Merrick registered at    Axbridge   Marriages Dec 1934 5c 1109

there were two children from that marriage sighted [Merrick / Ashman ] and cos of the years born 1937 and 1951 I cannot put up Shirley and Michaels details at Weston, Somerset...again on bmd

***** the article was stating the son may be deceased but the way the article read it seemed to me that they werent sure.........but he would be a ripe 100 year old if he was so maybe a death cert ref needs to be found to confirm....again I use the quote >>>>
"""Lt Stanley Ashman was the son of Alfred and Annie Ashman of South Field, Radstock and had five brothers.
It is understood he lived with his wife Minnie and son in Moorland Road, Weston, and his son may have died in 1991.
"""

according to earlier census  he, the airman, had sibs>

Alfred Ashman   19
Ernest Ashman   16
Stanley Ashman   13<    the airman
Frank Ashman   10
George Ashman   8
Bert Ashman   3
Wilfrid Ashman   1

Wilfred Ashman died aged 60 Dec 1960 Salisbury   Wiltshire 7c   544

so he would have married and had offspring....

and as i suspected>
he married Gladys Clara Gooding 3rd quarter of 1925  Clutton Somerset 5c1038

yes there was one child"
Ashman    James W    Gooding    Salisbury    Births Jun 1939 5a   208

he married Bideford in 1963.....  cannot post here but is on freebmduk

he can be found still in Bideford with Margaret as of 2012 [source 192]  again cannot post living souls on rc

so there is a few possibles of  airmans family found
there was also a younger sister Violet of the airman

next thought............  talk to treetective of rootschat   he does aircrashes  website

ps      the link to the story is not highlighted blue and does not work for me in Australia ...soz

ps  I am watching this post with great interest and have made a copy if the moderators feel i mention anything against rc living souls policy.. however in this case of rc finding missing ww families i dont think they will mind if we get a result.......

re > John Legge Bulmer

only picking up a birth cert entry >

registered Dec 1894 at York 9d27    with no marriage sighted......

having just read article I am adding quote >

"""John Legge Bulmer was a 2nd Lt in the 4th battalion attached to the 5th.
The son of the Rev Edward and Elizabeth Bulmer of Brooklands, Filey, he had four brothers and a sister, Edward, Philip, Charles, Reginald and Frances."""

just in case that yields anything...... but i couldnt find a census to get any furthering info.....

re >
Charles Croke Harper listed as Births Jun 1879  registered Erpingham 4b71

son of    Edward James Harper & Frances Wetherel Harper

had elder sibs >

Francis Strachey Harper   [8]
Grace Wetherell Harper   [6]
Margrate Harper                    [5]
Mabel Sophia Harper              [4]
Lionel Edward Harper          [   3]
according to 81 census

by 1901 he was a boarder      working as an accountant  ....  cant see much else but someone may be able to track sibs and offspring     soz

the article to quote stated >>> """Born in 1880, he was the son of the Rev E J and Frances Wetherall Harper of Broughton Rectory, Newport Pagnell, and had two brothers, Francis and Lionel and four sisters, Margaret, Mabel, Constance and Grace""""   so I am happy to confirm the census above was correct .....     so it is these children we need to track.....

there was the following but I didnt see anything further for this sib>
Marriages for September quarter of 1907  ; Francis Strachey Harper & Queenie Duvall registered Marylebone    1a1311

the only confirmed cert ref I could find was the birth Grace Wetherell for September quarter 1874 at Cranbrook 2a644

Lionel Edward Harper registered at Erpingham[4b61]for June quarter of 1878 and there are a couple of marriage possibles there...one to Hilda Douglas in 1923, and one in 1933 to Mabel VC Godfrey but that may not yielding of a child for Lionel cos of his age...... and I am not seeing a death cert ref there either but it would have to be before 1978 .....

re the last chap>
 William Charles HAYNES
listed as Births of  December quarter of  1888 registered at     Aylesbury    3a   686
as of 1901 census family still at Aylesbury
Henry Haynes   43  father
Elizabeth Haynes   43 mother
James Haynes   18
Agnes Sarah Haynes   14
William Chas Haynes   12
Florence Samuel Haynes   8
Horace Haynes   6
Carrie Evelyn Haynes   5

so there are a few sibs that can be traced on this one  and someone may care to do that as I have to go.......   got errands to run

hope all this helps the cause and good luck....

fusion :)

There is a Bulmer residing in Filey North Yorkshire according to my 2003/5 Electoral rolls, it would
have been nice to also find a Legge in the same location.
What are we supposed to do with the information if we have any.
Townson - Cartmel                      O'Malley - Askeaton, Ireland
Sadler - Dymock & Salford           Tomlinson - St Peters, Leeds
Wilkinson - Salford                      Chant - Sherbourne, Dorset
Garner - Pendleton

saddles I suppose we can only send it to biz at the moment via pm............. or put a comment on the newspaper article itself

another thought crossed my mind on this and that was to check if there were in fact any members of anc doing trees , and if parts were private then someone from rc should send a pm to those tree owners giving them the opportunity to respond to the journalist or MOD themselves... but without a file representative mentioned I guess the journo would be the one, so they get the followup scoop
