Very often a soldier when down graded medically would be transferred tot he Labour Corps..John Bridge was gassed at some time according to his "Soldiers Effects" entry.

One man I am stuck on at present is John Victor DANIEL got nothing to go on as yet. The other 13 should be OK once we get Harry or John Bridge sorted.
It s the WW2 men that give the most problems

Forgot to add that his Soldier Effects also give brothers David and Robert, sisters Mary and Hannah (Martin), so it does look as if he may very well be John for the military and Harry/Henry at home.

Interesting, an online tree gives his birth as 8 Mar 1886 in Parkside, Adelaide, South Australia. Ref: 368/478. His baptism is also given as 25 April St. Oswald's, Parkside, South Australia.

How about this?

John Victor Daniel
Birth     abt 1887
Birth Place:   Eastwood, Australia
Marriage :   26 Sep 1911   St Johns Church, Bury St. Edmunds
Age:   19
Document Year:   1906
Regimental Number:   12561
Regiment Name:   Grenadier Guards

His wife is given as Florence Mary Fasher and his son as Victor Thomas Daniel. In 1906 when he enlisted aged 19yrs 10 months he was a baker. He was discharged 14th July 1915 as no longer physically fit. Reason looks like Tuberole of the lung which originated in 1911 when he was with the reserves. Died 10 July 1916. His full army records are on Ancestry. If you don't have a subscription you should be able to see them through library access.
