Thanks for looking Sami, I appreciate you taking the time. I suppose she may have been with her brothers in Boston or she may have been home again. A woman of mystery!

Sandra can I ask a daft question about this, not being familiar with border crossing records. You mention both the fathers in that post as well as Nellie's brother Frank. Does that mean they were with them as well or were relatives just listed?

Alex Lawson and John Cameron  were the nearest named relatives from country whence came.
Frank Cameron was the contact they were going to in Massachusetts.

Hi I am looking for any information on the Cameron's in Leith Place . I used to visit Meg Cameron here in the 70's with my father James Robertson from Dunlop in Ayrshire . My grandfather was Alexander Cameron Robertson who I believe was a cousin of the Cameron's ? Any light on this would be great ? His mother was Margaret Powell ( my great Gran ) . Look forward to hearing anything and thank you x

Hello Pamela - Meg Cameron was my great aunt. Her sister Hannah was my gran. My dad always spoke fondly of his visits to Dunlop. We must be related somehow but will need to look at my family tree to work out how! If you make another couple of posts we'll be able to send a private message and exchange email addresses.

Wow ! What a small world x My grandfather (Alexander Cameron Robertson ) arrived in Dunlop in 1908 at 6 weeks old ! His father was James Robertson  (Dundee) and Margaret Powell from Leith I'm sure . Anyway there is a connection with a Dodds family from Portobello too X . My great gran ( Margaret Powell ) had 2 boys before she married James in 1895 I think and one stayed with the Dodds family in Portobello .x
