Thanks Sandra - will add that too. It's all quite confusing!

Seems like Eliza was quite the traveller. I have her crossing the Atlantic at least four times but I am are there must be at least two more crossings that I haven't found yet. One back from the US and another out to Canada. Will try to find her with William Fordie - perhaps easier to track down.

Just wanted to say that on reflection, perhaps the William Cameron that Eliza Jane went back to Canada with in 1923 was in fact the William Fordie of the same age that came across with her! I can't find a nephew William Cameron of the right age.

Still can't find when she returned from the US on her first visit in 1901. She was on the 1911 census in Edinburgh so she definitely came back! I am wondering if perhaps she went overland from the US to Canada when she arrived in 1920 and her journey back in 1923 was the first one home after that. But then, she wasn't on the 1921 Canada census with her sister. Mysterious!

I've also been looking through the 1921 Canada census for Eliza Jane. Tried all sorts of name combinations, ages, different provinces  etc. but no luck with my search either.
