Just watched on iplayer, too. The history was put across very well, especially about the Christiana Resistance & the amazing result of the death there [won't spoil it for anyone!!]. Yes, not many 'wows'; whether her interpretations were written for her we shall never know, but Zooey summed up situations very succinctly.

This series really does concentrate on history, centred around one ancestor of the subject. No problem with that but, as has been said before, it means that little genealogy is done during the programme. It is surprising to me how many historical centres, libraries etc there must be.

I find the lack of genealogy a little frustrating.  For example it was obvious in this latest episode that one of the other signaturies to one of the documents that they presented was also probably a relative but this wasn't even mentioned even though they had the mother's surname.

Yes, there is little opportunity in a 40 min programme to follow more than one person.

SPOILER ALERT:

I would have found it interesting to have followed up the ex-slave Parker who escaped the Christiana Resistance to Canada & found that family & reunited them with Pownall descendants.

I've not watched this one yet, but if it's like the others in the series, they seem hellbent on following the line that leads to a famous ancestor.  I'm getting a little bored with that.  In one of the ones we've just seen, I was thinking from things that had been said that following the female line would have been much more interesting.

Hi all,

Almost forgot to do this!

The last in the series featuring actor Chris O'Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever & Scent of a Woman amongst others!) is now on tomorrow Tuesday 25th February 2014 on BBC1 at 11.35pm. They have changed it from tonight (Monday) to a day later as noted above.

Watched Zoey Deschanel's episode on BBC IPlayer the other night. found it very interesting & Zoey herself was very articulate in her responses & knew her history, which made a very nice change. All in all a very interesting episode indeed.

Kind regards

Hi All,

Yes, managed to catch Chris' episode last night.  Did fall asleep a number of times.  Expected a trail back to Ireland but it never materialised.  He did find quite a lot of archival material on two of his ancestors which was a great find.  The catch word this week:  GOTCHA.

Oh no :o
I didn't watch it - because I didn't know it was on (loud sigh).
Why did it change days? I looked at Monday's nights TV schedule and just thought it was skipping a week. I should have known better.
Never mind I'll watch it on i-Player. Enjoyed Zooey's episode. She seemed an intelligent, thoughtful subject.

Looby :)
