Hi again,

Just to let you know that episode 3 featuring Cindy Crawford is on tonight (2/2/14) BBC1 at 11.10pm.

Found both episodes so far interesting, but would agree that Kelly Clarkson was slightly irritating with all the hugging & overdone exclamations. Found Christina Applegate's one interesting but very sad.

I look forward to this next one!

Kind regards

David

Well ,
I enjoyed Cindy Crawford's episode. She was a lot calmer and didn't hug!
I was fascinated by her Somerset born ancestor and gob smacked by the unfurled family tree scroll (now commonplace in the UK version) which traced her back to Charlemagne. I wonder how many researchers were involved and how long that took  ;D ;D ??
Looby :)

It did make it seem very easy though.  I'd have been more interested in finding out about Thomas Trowbridge's wife or even some of the later generations but I suppose that wouldn't have made good tele.

I agree Lizzie, it was easy viewing but I would have wanted to know more about them in the US...I would hope Cindy then went and read the Trowbridge book she was shown.  I would love to have seen her daughter's school project after that  ;D

I enjoyed Cindy Crawfords episode although it did make me laugh when she said 'I've only been doing it a day and already I'm back to the 1600s'!!  ::)

I did wonder whether the Trowbridge book had been written by an historian and had real evidence to back it up, or whether it was yet another of the "family" books that Americans seem to like writing about their families.   I've come across some on the internet which, apparently, have some of my ancestors in them, but when I check them out, they have most of the facts wrong, wrong date of birth, wrong place etc. even transporting families to USA, who I know from parish records etc. never left these shores.
