Gaughans of Treanoughter, Attymass.
« on: Monday 06 January 14 23:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi,  I've been helped by you before on my Gaughan family. I have got a bit more information now and wonder if it would help me find out which family of Gaughans they are from. My gt grandad Anthony Gaughan married Letitia Walsh in 1875 Attymass. His father was Thomas Gaughan, they lived in Treanoughter, Attymass, he had a brother's Peter, Patrick, Thomas and Michael. Michael married Mary Goodwin and is on the 1911 Irish census living in Ardrass.  Anthony died in Widnes, England, his daughter Nora died in a convent in Castlebar around 1951. Peter died in Gateshead, Co. Durham, Thomas b. 1863 married Catherine Geraghty and they went to Philadelphia, he was on the 1930 USA census. Patrick I believe stayed in Ireland, I think his wife's name was Bridget. If anyone knows of this family I would be grateful, I would love to know who my gt gt grandmother was. Thanks

Hi Pauline.

I think your enquiry should be on the Mayo board. I will ask a moderator to takes a look and decide.

Here are your earlier threads for any relevant information.
