WW1 - Egypt - What Regiment ?

I am wondering whether someone may be able to identify the regiment from the uniforms in the photo attached. It may be that someone recognises the lapel badges

I am sorry about the quality of the image but this is the best scan of the photo I have at the moment. On the back, the only helpful things written are Egypt,  June 24th.

Could their badges be the "Flaming Grenade" badge of the Royal Fusilliers. The RF were in Egypt during WW1.

Yes, I agree a Fusiler Regt, a couple of Regimental Bandsman in the pic also with their shoulder braids/tassels.   A fine bunch of fellows they look. Lest we Forget.

These are mounted soldiers with spurs on their boots, I wonder if the collar badge is  the wheatsheaf of the Lothian and Border Horse Yeomanry who were in Egypt, Palestine etc,

I wondered about the Fusiliers but I thought the 'flaming grenade' badge on the collar should be  'sideways' and not vertical...but I am not certain. Maybe others have seen the collar badges vertical before.

I had also wondered if they were cavalry because of what look like riding breeches, but then thought they would be wearing higher cavalry type boots instead of what seem like ordinary infantry boots. However, I can see what may be spurs on the boots of one man but not the others..or am I not looking properly?

I think we now have a better feeling on the regiment.  - Borders and Lothian Horse - part of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force in WWI - the badge is similar to the Royal Fusiliers but when examined on a full sized photograph there is a big difference. Photographs of badges attached for the B&LH.

I don't think they are bandsmen, no trade badges on their arms. The right hand one of the 2 is wearing sabre slings as well which bandsmen didn't. They all have spurs except the man on the left in trousers. I also think they should all be wearing the braids on the left arm, quite common on yeomanry units I believe.

All mounted troops wore standard infantry boots with either leather gaiters or puttees depending on type of unit. These men are not wearing any as you can see socks between boots and jodphurs. As mounted men they would be worn wound from the top down as opposed to bottom up for infantry.

They are unquestionably cavalry and probably Yeomanry.  The men with pouch belts and aiguillettes are regimental Trumpeters.  The collar badges do look the insignia of the Lothian and Border Horse.  The hackles in the Wolseley helmets would be a dress item and given orthochromatic film their appearance suggests quite a dark colour.
