You'll have more success searching for Jane if you give her the correct husband.  ;D
Try searching either FreeBMD or Cambridgeshire County Council online registration site
http://www.camdex.org.uk/search.cfm
in 1843 for Henry Haddon.

Any relation to a William Horner? He was born in Beverley approx 1872?

He was a lodger in my house and I'm trying to find out more about him. (He was lodging with the Popple family, the head of the Popples came from Osgerby in Lincs)

Hi,
It is possible. She married William Kirk and was living in Winteringham district in 1841 they had a child John but may have had another before meeting William. The family moved to Hull where William died in 1850 so she may have gone to live with her son? in Beverley where she died at 62.
Your lodger could have been a grandson.
I guess if you can access the census record for Winteringham for 1841 and see who was in William Kirk's household it may show Martha's other children ,if any.

Horner (East Halton, Lincs)

1841 Census Winteringham, has William, Martha(transcribed as Marth) age 35, John age 7 and Sophia Threlfell age 3.

Martha and the children were born this county, William wasn't.

Could well be then! I've been told this morning that there are still a number of Horners living in Beverley.
