maria challoner nee conner?

Looking for any leads or info re: Maria Conner? thought born Enniscorthy 1810, believed to have married Henry Challoner or Challinor date unknown.
Believed to have farmed at Castle Ellis and had children ie sons: Thomas 1840 /41 ,Henry 1842 & others? Their birthplaces unknown
Particularly interested in Maria's own siblings and if any of them emmigrated to Boston Mass as a family group about 1855 - 1860 with or without other stragglers attached who might have claimed family kinship or used the surname Conner.
Already scoured LDS site for traces in Boston but to no avail. No trace Ellis Island or Castle Gardens sites.

Hi,
I have a lot of family from Castle Ellis and know a bit about the area. There is a townland called Castle Ellis it is in the DED Bolaboy. There is also a DED Castle Ellis (with about 30 townlands). They are all in the Enniscorthy Registration District. Connor, Connors and O'Connor are very common names in this area to this day. I don't know anyone with the name Conner but this maybe an Americanised version of the same name, they were free and easy with spelling of surnames back then. I have never come across the name Challoner. Have you looked on Griffiths Valuation for them or family if they were farming in the 1850s? Unfortunatly the free site ask about Ireland is undergoing maintenance at the moment but I believe its also on Find my past but I don't have access to that one at the moment as its subscription.

A correction or addition to my query, not sure which?
Checking files and possibility is that the surname was O'Conner?
Also Ballymurn will likely figure in this.
Don't know if the church records there are available or have to be requested. I assume that Maria was protestant but that remains to be seen.
She may have been an employee at Ballenkeele House, that's where her partner was first employed say about 1826/7/8
Her partner definitely appears in the valuation tables for Grinnels
I think that's all I have but will check again asap.

Hi,

On FindMyPast.ie there is a record from 1854 in the Petty Sessions Books concerning a Henry Challinor for non payment of tuition fees for his two sons. His witnesses are Maria, Henry and Thomas Challinor.  It says that they are from Kilmallock. Could be them.

I did find the petty sessions tidbit as did my collaborator to whom I have passed on your info.

Griffiths Valuation shows Henry Challoner leasing House,Office and land from John Peare in 1853 Ballaghkeen,Kilmallock.

that's a step forward, now we know that a dwelling, office and land was leased and the land owner!
So there may be a record remaining from that source.
It's passed on to the person best able to track it and will see what he turns up

Could this be the son Henry born circa 1842.
Henry Chaloner age 59 1901 census same 1911 census age 69 born Wexford ,schoolmaster married to Jane at Piltown ,co Kilkenny.
note one L in Chaloner.
