1864 Church Baptism Record

Thank you all for your responses .... the more records I see the worse it gets!  so far I have seen: DORNAGH, which kings thinks is DERNAGH, BALLYNAKELLY, ... kings thinks may be BALLYNAKILLY which is just to the south of Coalisland and now I've found three others ANNAHER? AHAGALLA? and wait for it .... L Cove !!  Each of these I have found on Roots Ireland Baptism Records under "Address"  ... for now its unclear whether they are simply mis-transcripts or illiteracy. (Dernagh, I get as its in Clonoe) If the above places are indeed addresses, where on earth are they in relation to each other and which churches would the families have attended?  The time span that I am researching is quite specific --  1850 -1870

Hi,
   Have a look at http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/ and select "starts with" or "Ends With" as your method of search. I think it gives lots of possibilities for two of your townlands.

This site will allow you to see parish maps in order to locate a townland in Co. Tyrone-

Do not worry about slight variations in spellings of place names- see here to find details (civil parish and PLU (Poor Law Union) which will be the same as registration district will be the most useful to you) of townlands in Ireland - be sure to change default setting to 'anywhere in field.'

oh aghadowey, I don't think gold,frankincense, myrrh or even chrome helps me and as for tablets, I'm not using anything other than those which the doctor has prescribed for my age      I can open the links but I have no idea how to find the information I am looking for!  whenever I enter the names of the so called "addresses"  I simply get the response "Sorry, no matches found for your query...Please try again"  kings advice hasn't got me anywhere either.... so I must be doing something wrong, but all I need are the names of the churches that the families would have attended, how do I find if these links give me this information?

which means that you can now click on a place to see it on a map

Since you don't seem to have a clue about what these townlands might be (spelling variations do make it slightly more difficult) the other link will help you find what the townland is- http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/

aghadowey, thanks very much, that explanation was very helpful and I think these are the results:

Ballynakelly= Ballynakilly = Killyman
Annaher= Anagher = Clonoe
Ahagalla= Aughagalla = Clone
Dornagh= Dernagh = Clonoe

Could do with some serious help though with L Cove.  Haven't seen anything that fits this.  Appreciate any ideas?

Glad you are getting the hang of the searching now. I think you are looking at a transcribed record rather than the actual register? if so, it could be an error, but impossible to kniow from the transcription what it could be. can you give us the full details you have that go with the L..Cove reference as a name and date, etc. may help find where it is.
