Pontefract Burial Records
« on: Tuesday 24 December 13 12:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello, My name is Frederick Engelbert and I am interested in locating the burial record of my greatgrandfather David who is interned in an unmarked grave in section 0, grave space 1498 in Pontefract Cemetery, Skinners Lane Pontefract. He died 5/12/1939 at 46 Monkhill Avenue.
Hoping someone can do a look up for me.
Best regards and many thanks
Frederick

Hi,

Headland lane/ (Skinner Lane) cemetery is very large, if you can contact Wakefield council (See contact link) they will provide you with a map (maybe small copy/ postage cost) exactly where your grave is. Then you can PM your email address to a member who offers to find the grave, then send a copy of the map with that information to a member who offers to do a look up.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Many thanks, but I really want to know where the burial records can be found or if someone could look for them for me. I located and visited the grave when I lived in the UK and have a death certificate and details of the grave site. What I need to know now is are their any other details in the authorities burial record ie, next of kin/nationality of the deceased/grave owner etc.
Regards and a merry Christmas
Frederick
