Hi Oscella,
I have that he had 2 children with Anastasia Murphy.  She had children with Michael Kelly (who she married in 1866), then John Dow, then Percival Cochrane.

The children with Percival (that I have) were:
Sarah Jane b1879
Elizabeth b1885

The other children may have been Anastasia's surviving children, although I can find only 1 - Catherine Dow b 1873.

Anastasia was the sister of my GG grandfather.  She died in 1939.

So the Cochrane boys parents were Robert & Jane?

Yes, the two children were Sarah and Elizabeth. I was never able to track Anastasia or the two girls so it is great to find a contact!

I forgot to say yes, Percival, Henry and George's parents were Robert Cochrane and Jane Tully.
Their brothers Hugh and Thomas also came to Australia. Brother John was never heard of again so may have died as a baby and brother Robert was killed in a mining accident in Northumberland.  Alice married in Northumberland and died in Durham.

I can give you a little more info then on Anastasia:
(sorry if this is threadjacking?)

Born 5 Apr 1847, Petersham NSW to James Murphy and Catherine Callaghan.  Died 1939 Campbellfield, Vic.

Had a child that died at 4 months, James Dow/Kelly.  John Dow is listed as father at birth but at death the child is listed as James Kelly (prob as they were not married).  That child is apparently buried at the side of a road.

Not much info on James Murphy, but I suspect he was a convict off the Lonach 1825.  We cannot find a marriage between him and Catherine Callaghan but they had 8 children:

Catherine b1835 d 1836
Catherine b1836 d1906
Phillip b1837 d 1877
Bridget b1841 d 1920
Anastasia sometimes spelled as Anistasia and Anistatia
Michael b1852 d1911
James b1853 d1859

James seems to disappear around 1853 (no death found) and Catherine marries John Walter 5 Oct 1853. Catherine died 29 July 1877 in Omeo.

I don't suppose you know what happened to Elizabeth and Sarah? They are the Cochrane line....

Thanks - are you saying that she was born in Bruthen? Her birth certificate says Omeo but I guess she made an error when she filled out the details?

No idea what "Mcei" is short for - will add if I can find it.

The 1954 Electoral roll has Elizabeth COCHRANE and Sarah Jane GOUGH living at 50 Exhibition St, McKinnon.  Perhaps "Mcei" is a bad transcription for McKinnon??.
