Hi, I thought so, I think Thomas in 1841 married to Mary, was married before, this is his marriage to Mary:-

Thomas Merrick Widower occ Iron Weigher abode Tredegar Father Stephen occ Currier
Mary Richards Spinster Father Moses occ Boatman
7th April 1839 St Sannan, Bedwelty

More than possible first marriage:-

Thomas Merrick occ Brewer Charlotte Morgan/s 2nd June 1825 St Sennans, Bedwelty abode Tredegar
Witnesses John/Mary Morgan

Baptism 25th February 1828 St Sannans Thomas Merrick Father Thomas occ Bundler? Mother Charlotte abode Tredegar
So William could be a Morgan/s or Richards or Merrick?

Once again thank you so much for your reply, ;)

But now I have a problem,

On my family I had a admission for Thomas Merrick of Tredegar Monmouth Labourer eldest son of Stephen Merrick late of Hay (deceased) freeman of Hereford on the 26th June 1826,
Stephen died 1818 Hay on Wye.
Thomas was baptised  4th apr 1802 Hereford St John father Stephen Merrick mother Mary.
Stephen was a Staymaker and Inn Holder,
Could there be another Thomas Merrick in Tredegar at the same Time?
Any help would be great thank you.
ps I work nights so sorry I can`t always reply straight away

Just another thought, would (father Stephen occ Currier) have been put as deceased if it had been my Stephen from Hay?
Looks like there were at least two Thomas Merrick with a father  Stephen Merrick from Tredegar what a coincidence
