Dad wants to know when he moved from London to Essex, as dad himself lived in essex for a while. did he own where he was living? we have tried to contact the newspaper but they dont do online searches and were not very helpful in regards to seeing if a obtiuary was listed??

Hi, if he owned his own property, you could try the Land Registery

When you say you couldnt find a marriage . . . . . . I have just looked at the index and there are pages and pages of William H Norris. How do you know none of them arent him?

Did you know for sure he never married?

Who was the informant on the death cert?

IF he owned the property, I am surprised that he left no will. But if he didnt leqave a will,  then I would have thought there would be record of Letters of Administration being granted to someone, in order for them to deal with the estate.
But you say you have already had a search done at the Probate registry?

Have you goggled the address on his DC, it looks like  apartments over looking the sea, have you contacted Essex Archive too see if they have him on the electoral register

I have been reading this as William all along ..... And it is Wilfred!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he used his middle initial, there are possible marriages in Manchester, Poplar and Wolverhampton.
If he didnt, there are several other possibilities too.
