Hi Jackie, I can confirm that this marriage is correct, Edward Sheldon died in 1820, they has 2 sons, Joseph Sheldon b 1817, and Edward Sheldon b 1820, Edward is with Phoebe on the 1851 census, his age is transcribed incorrectly, has 39 but should be 30,

So that has sorted Phoebe out,

Thank you all for your input

Good to see your researches still going well Marg.
I can't remember what old records I sent you re. Stantons of Walsall and Tipton. I am pretty sure I sent you the memorandum of 1833 and the family tree but if not let me know

Hi Zen rabbit, yes you did send me the family tree, I am still chipping away at it.

At the moment, I am trying to establish who Richard Stanton's first wife was, I will have a look at the information that you sent me, too see if there are any clues there.

There is one candidate for his wife, who is a Mary Fletcher, its just trying to find that vital clue to connect the two Richards together, and its not looking good at the moment, after days of research

Hi Zen

I have got most of the information, so don't worry

Richard married Mary Fletcher  14 March 1808 All Saints West Bromwich
witnesses Richard Stanley and Mary Fletcher

I think that these are all there children

Richard Stanton, 24 Jun 1810, St Martins, Tipton
Mary 23 Sept 1812 St Matthews Walsall
Martha 3 April 1814 St Matthews Walsall Hill St Walsall fathers occ Spur Maker
Maria 27 Sept 1815 St Matthews Walsall New St Key Maker
Louisa 4 Oct 1818 St Matthews Walsall Hill St Key Filer

His wife Mary died 17 Dec 1820 aged 31, Abode Horseley Heath

With the first child born and his wife death in the Horseley Heath area, could this be the Richard who married Phoebe Sheldon nee Horton 1 Oct 1827 St Thomas Dudley

I have looked at some of the marriages for Richard and Mary's children, and they are in Hill St Walsall, it also stated that Richard is a Key Maker, but he may have left his children there, when he married Phoebe and changed his occ to Hinge Maker, and his children may have thought he was still a Key Maker, all supposition I know

Also, If Richard and Mary married at West Brom. it looks like that they were originally from that area and moved to Walsall
