mystery occupation on census

Hi, Can anyone make out what this occupation is from the 1841 census looks like ear wright to me
but that don`t make sence any help most appreciated
Newman in cambridge, chatham and london,  Buck in pill somerset Baker in devon

Yes it`s a Jonathan Stratford born 1781, registration district Durham and Lanchester, In the hundred of Chester (West Division) Peice 301, Folio 23 P7

I think it may be Engine Wright or some sort of engineer.  Others living in the same dwelling also have engineering jobs.
Perrins - Manchester and Staffs
Honan - Manchester and Ireland
Hogg - Manchester 19 cent
Anderson - Newcastle mid 19 cent
Boullen - London then Carlisle then Manchester
Comer - Manchester and Galway
