On the image for the 1901 census the birthplace is written as "India (MWP)".

It looks to me like the last letter is not a g, but a p partly obscured by the bracket.

 Whoever was collating the statistics has used the final column for the birthplaces of all those on the page who were not born in England and that is where the word "Khampor" appears.

On the 1891 census image, the birthplace for Helen is "North West Provinces" India.

In this case, wikipedia is your friend:)

 If you search on wikipedia for Cawnpore it will tell you Cawnpore was the British word for what is now spelled Kanpur.
If you search wikipedia using the terms "North-Western Provinces" India you will find an old map where the spelling of the current Kanpur was Khanpur at the time the map was drawn.

I am assuming therefore that MWG is actually NWP and someone got mixed up with M and N - and ancestry transcribed P as G.

The above is either an educated guess or pure speculation! It's your call.
