Mother: Janet Denham

Don't think this is the correct Robert as I think he still shows in Scotland for 1861, by which point the other Robert had already married Elizabeth in Australia. Birth details here https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XYMP-T7J and 1861 for that family:

A co-incidence though on the burial details etc for the Robert who died in 1898, given his occupation and age. Wife Elizabeth Syme's details (burial) are correct though?

The 'Alfred' manifest arriving, as you have, in Sept 1858 shows a Robert Black, aged 21, a ploughman by occupation and originating from Stirling. Have you tried to follow up details with that info back in the earlier Scottish censuses. There is this one for example from 1851:

Robert Black, 15, farm servant b. Stirling. This entry shows at the farm of a John Blair, at Little Ward, Kincardine, Perthshire....can't easily connect to an 1841 census entry so far.

Mary Ann, 1, his daughter, of Forfar, Church of Scotland, “neither” read nor write
Catherine, infant, his daughter, of Forfar, Church of Scotland “neither” read nor write

These images are held at the NSW State Records Office.  Afterall, in 1858 QLD was yet to be hived off NSW into a separate British Colony

(To restrict that search option to Queensland arrivals use the “Arriving” option and limit the search to “Moreton Bay (Brisbane), 1848-1859.

The above BLACK family (on the Family List section of that passenger list) are in addition to the Robert BLACK aged 21 and the Catherine BLACK aged 23 on that same voyage.

On Single Female List : Catherine BLACK from Lanark.
On Single Male List : Robert BLACK from Stirling.
